For Parents:
Alive Alone is an organization for
the education and charitable purposes to benefit bereaved parents, whose only child or all
children are deceased, by providing a self-help network and publications to promote
communication and healing, to assist in resolving their grief, and a means to reinvest

Candlelighters is a
national non-profit membership organization whose mission is to educate, support, serve
and advocate for families of children with cancer, survivors of childhood cancer, and the
professionals who care for them. Also contains a bereavement email support group and
helpful information about the grieving process under support and bereavement. Call (800)

Candlelighters local chapter helping
families in Oregon and SW Washington provides support education and advocacy to families
whose lives have been affected by childhood cancer, including grief and bereavement

Childrens
Cancer Association offers Kids Cancer Pages, a
national resource directory which contains hundreds of invaluable resources relating to
all aspects of pediatric cancer, including grief and bereavement. Can be accessed online

Compassionate Friends: National Chapter
is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship,
understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. There is no

Grief Share a Christian faith-based
video seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. To find a

Living with Loss: Grief Education and Support Group
offered
through Doernbecher Children's Hospital is a free, six-week grief
support program for bereaved parents. Because this group is offered in 3
month cycles, please contact Shirley Mason, L.C.S.W. at (503) 418-5140
for more information/registration. (Group takes place outside of
Doernbecher).

Dougy Center is a place where
grieving children can find loving support in a safe place where children, teens and their
families grieving a death can share their experiences as they move through their healing

Veins" the website for the journal "Fire In My Heart, Ice In My Veins"
A journal for teenagers experiencing a loss. This site is designed to let teenagers share

Me, Too. & Company is an Oregon
based, multi-agency program which offers a
free, 8-week grief support program for children and teens ages 5-18 and their adult

Stepping Stones of SW
Washington Medical Center is a grief and bereavement program for children and teens
that have had a death in their family. By appointment only. Call (360) 696-5120 to

Bereaved Parents of the USA
(BP/USA) is a national non-profit self-help group that offers support,
understanding, compassion and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings
struggling to rebuild their lives after the death of their children, grandchildren or
siblings. The online newsletter contains articles of interest to bereaved parents,
siblings and grandparents on grief. It also has book reviews each month to help you select

Broken Hearts
Living Hope is a free monthly newsletter for families who have lost children,
siblings, or grandchildren of any age. Although it is not affiliated with any church or
religious group, it encourages the bereaved to look to the Bible and to the Christian

Kaiser Cancer
Counseling Grief counseling for children, adolescents and young adults who have had a
death of someone close from any cause. Open-ended counseling for individuals, couples
children and families. Kaiser patients pay a nominal fee; all others pay $36 for
